FACEBOOK ‘SPACES’ THRUSTS SOCIAL VR INTO SPOTLIGHT

Launched last month, Spaces may soon be expanded to third-party developers to further Facebook’s fingerprint in the social VR world.  Spaces functions similar to Messenger, but goes beyond to let developers build augmented reality extensions on top of the chat app.  Aiming for a “people-centric computer platform,”  Facebook Social VR Product Manager Mike Booth anticipates Spaces future possibilities like playing pool and listening to music with friends without having to launch a separate application.  Booth says Facebook want to “move fast and break stuff,” promising, “We have a million more things that we have planned.”
