VR FILM ‘TABEL’ TOUTS GOOGLE WEBVR DESIGN

A WebVR immersive experience lasting for 7 minutes was released on Google’s Art, Copy and Code site last week entitled Tabel: A Tasty Allegory for Global Interaction in the Face of Climate Control. The VR film invites users to immerse themselves in a room where six different conversations are ongoing. Google technology behind the WebVR film includes a GoPro Odyssey camera using Jump technology, and Google’s directional audio allowing navigability through six storylines.  Two Acts are presented during the VR experience–one where the user is seated at Tabel Restaurant and one where trouble is brewing in the kitchen. “Tabel shows the potential of how WebVR can become a powerful tool for dynamic storytelling and how it can empower the user to become their own experience director.”
