Tactical Haptics is a hardware company that specializes in VR immersion. They recently developed some very interesting controllers that help users feel the weight and momentum of virtual objects in their hands.

How the Controllers Work

The controllers use a combination of tangential shear and friction forces to create realistic hand feedback. This goes much further than the vibration effects that most controllers have, and lets users feel the swing of an axe or the recoil of a gun in a more convincing way.

Development Kit Preorder

The official name for the devic is the Reactive Grip Controller and the development kits will be available for preorder starting May 29th. These controllers are not meant for consumers but are geared towards the enterprise market. The price is expected to be around $1,500 for a full kit.
