VR AT TRIBECA FILM FEST RETURNS WITH FANTASTIC VR ARCADE
Hollywood and Silicon Valley are uniting to bring about some of the world’s greatest immersive experiences in VR art and storytelling. Nowhere is this more “real” than at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival, which features hours of VR and AR games, movies, and other up-and-coming mixed reality projects. Some noteworthy immersive experiences include: Blackout–a mixed reality NYC subway ride by startup Scatter; Tree–a haptic vest and Oculus Rift experience of growing from seed to a Kapok tree; and Arden’s Wake–a short immersive animation of a teenage girl living in a “Nemo-like lighthouse” in an apocalyptic world. In all, the Tribeca VR Arcade has 29 offerings to experience.
