PARLEZ-VOUS VIRTUAL REALITY?
At the recent South by South West (SXSW) event, the country of France showcased the talent, innovation, and creativity of its nationwide virtual reality movement. To award-winning immersive experiences likes “Firebird,” “I, Philip,” and “Notes on Blindness,” the response was overwhelming: France’s VR initiatives is among the top in the world. “A recent report from the Venture Reality Fund notes that France is taking the lead in virtual reality development in continental Europe and points to 19 VR startups in France in its landscape of influential emerging VR players.” While most of the nation’s VR applications have been geared more toward entertainment, industry observers expect to see France expand to using VR in infrastructure, education, and other everyday applications.
