TOURISM ONBOARDING VIRTUAL REALITY TO BOOST EXPERIENCES
Tourism may be stepping up its game using virtual reality in hotels and for travel to provide innovative technologies that deliver amenities and adventure in new ways. At Madrid’s Fitur fair, a display of the hotel of the future features virtual receptionists, smart tech amenities, and VR headsets able to guide visitors on tours of local destinations. “Tourism is linked to experiences, sensitivity,” says Siham Fettouhi, head of e-marketing at the office, adding that while virtual reality can’t replace the taste of local cuisine or the smell of the ocean, it can create a desire in people to want to explore more.
