Oculus touch controllers and HTC Vive wands have sufficed poorly in the past to write in virtual reality. However, thanks to a new peripheral pen called Drawboard, writing in VR may be as easy as writing on a real sheet of paper. Shaped like a pen (that’s a good start), this type of stylus uses Leap Motion technology on the Oculus Rift ad HTC Vive to enable six degrees of freedom (6DOF). Another major difference with using Drawboard is that rather than writing in thin air, users will need to “virtually” write on a table or wall or other hard surface for the drawing or notes to actually write in VR.
