San Francisco. is home to many start-up and global technology companies. It is also home to food trucks, year round fog and the San Francisco Giants. While those are all fine and dandy, we are a VR Magazine. Not a gourmet, weather or sports magazine.
These are our picks for the top VR Experiences in San Francisco. Dive in and get immersed.
1. Exit Reality

Exit Reality brings Virtual Reality to the people. This is a must for anyone in San Francisco looking to experience VR. They are the first Pop-Up VR experience on wheels. Exit Reality creates an incredible juxtaposition of vintage and technology. Their customized trucks capture a different era, hand bent aluminum, rivets, and whitewall tires which belie the futuristic experience waiting for you inside. 2. Eye Heart NYE – December 31st, 2016

Experience a Virtual Reality Playground on New Year’s Eve! Sponsored by UploadVR, HTC Vive and Syber this is an awesome opportunity to experience VR as you usher in the New Year. Live music from Klingande, Viceroy, Kill Frenzy, a giant Ferris Wheel, plus food and drinks will make this a New Year’s to remember.
3. SVVR – March 29th to the 31st

Ok, so it’s not San Francisco but this one is worth the trip. More VR companies exhibit at the annual SVVR conference & Expo than any other VR event in the world. If you want the widest array of VR experiences under one roof, this is it. The list from last years conference is an article by itself, we expect this year to be even bigger.
4. World’s Fair Nano – January 28th and 29th
Address: Pier 70, 420 22nd Street, San Francisco, CA
World’s Fair Nano is a two day, jam packed technological wonder. Showcasing what is and what will be, it is an event not be missed. HTC, Oculus and Samsung Gear will all be there with their latest and greatest VR experiences. Also, don’t miss Human Pong by Modal VR. Your chance to step into the classic Atari game we all know and love.
5. GDC – Game Developers Conference – Feb 27-Mar 3, 2017
Address: Moscone Center, 747 Howard St, San Francisco, CA 94103
The Game Developers Conference (GDC) is the world’s largest professional game industry event. The VRDC (Virtual Reality Developers Conference) is a conference within a conference. This is an incredible opportunity to Demo new technologies and gain insight into best practices to create amazing, immersive virtual and augmented reality experiences for both games and non-game entertainment.
6. Best Buy
Address: 1717 Harrison St, San Francisco CA 94103
Starting in October, Best Buy became one of the first retailers where you can try out the new Oculus Touch controllers with its Rift virtual reality headset. The games include Touch Tutorial, VR Sports Challenge, Unspoken, The Climb (with added Touch controls) and Medium.
