Considered long-time coming by many Google and Facebook frequent flyers, the convergence of two tech greats means much fun and possibility for the creative VR world. Tilt Brush, a VR app enabling you to create content in a 3D space, now offered on Oculus Rift is the “olive branch” to harmonize for the first time ever the long-standing, “awkward” dissonance between Facebook and Google. Although Tilt Brush represents only a sliver of Google initiatives, this recent development seems to point toward future VR platform convergences. YouTube VR would be perhaps a bigger step in this direction, but no talk of that kind of cross-platform utopia has surfaced . . . yet.
