Born out of a college athlete’s interest in virtual reality technologies and his love of football, STRIVR Labs continues to build its clientèle of both college and professional athletic teams improving the game using virtual reality training. Chief Science Officer Michael Casale has been working with elite athletes to document the value of using virtual reality training. Admitting much of the impact of VR training may not clearly translate into definitive results, Casale has witnessed for himself the benefits of training quarterbacks, for instance, using 360 degree footage and immersion experiences of virtual reality. STRIVR Labs faces challenges in research with limited sample sizes and technical issues in effectively capturing video to translate into a VR training program. Nevertheless, the company believes it will continue to lead the field in developing VR technologies to improve sports training.
