When Microsoft improved its SharePoint software in 2016, virtual reality did not play into the mix of integrated Dropbox, Slack, and Box. This week, Microsoft announced its opening of a special preview version of SharePoint spaces, which brings its business-focused software to its Mixed Reality headsets. The company hopes to provide a stable immersive environment for data manipulation and visualization for applications like onboarding new employees and product development. With over 135 million Office 365 users, SharePoint’s foray into virtual reality may bring down the cost of developing experiences for businesses.
