Using an underwater 360-degree virtual reality camera attached to her gear, Ginger Zee of Good Morning America shared a live broadcast of her 45-feet deep exploration of the “Ray of Hope” shipwreck. Accompanying Zee were expert trainers including PADI master scuba diver Liz Parkinson, who put a shark in tonic immobility. Viewers can see Zee holding the shark’s fin in her hands and they can move the view to see the other divers surrounded by more swarming sharks. The dive took place in the Bahamas where the “Ray of Hope” went down, an area which was declared a shark sanctuary in 2011.
