The announcement was made last week during Google’s developer conference. Calling the software update Daydream Euphrates, Google is adding some new features to improve usability and functionality, which are sure to heat up the industry with VR competition. One of the best new features is Chrome VR, enabling users to browse the web in virtual reality and sync all bookmarks and personalizations in their Google account. Other features include a cast option, screenshot and screen-capture features, and WebVR-based content streaming through Chrome. A standalone Daydream VR headset that works without an Android phone may also serve as a profitable segway for Google to attract iPhone users as well.
