Scheduled for limited release in mid-September, Casio’s “quirky but rugged split-in-two camera,” the EX-FR200, features many upgrades to previous models although similar in appearance and with its versatile configurations. The most intriguing feature of the EX-FR200 is a much wider lens able to capture a 185-degree angle and its 35 mm focal length, which is key to enabling 360-degree photo and video footage. Waterproof to IPX8 and IPX6 standards, Casio’s new model has a touchscreen control module to control multiple camera modules, which will require separate purchase. Additional Casio software is needed to view and export footage, but the release is expected to offer a camera and software bundle.
